About VKM

Our Story

Incorporated in 2020, the Vancouver Kindness Movement (VKM) is a registered non-profit organization, leading a social movement of change through kindness and compassion.

Founded by Juliana Manalo, alongside several other passionate young people, the Vancouver Kindness Movement began by reaching out to youth by building awareness around the idea that kindness was a choice for anyone in any situation, both offline and online.

In the following months, the Vancouver Kindness Movement expanded with its Kindness Ambassador Program and various initiatives.

Some of our annual initiatives include:

  • putting together care packages

  • fundraising for local charities and Indigenous communities

  • hosting Shoreline/park cleanups

  • leading mental health workshops

  • organizing our Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) during World Kindness Week.

  • working with secondary school students and teachers to lead our Love Where You Learn (LWYL) program

…and supporting our community through youth engagement!

We lead a social movement of change through kindness and compassion.
